Just To Let You Know – We Are Still Here!

Covid-19 has significantly impacted our personal lives on a daily basis. During this last year, the Bay St. George Sick Children’s Foundation has felt that impact as well. Though our last two Telethons have had to be cancelled, the need to support families in our area continues despite this crisis.

Any donation to the Foundation is an investment in the families in our community who need to travel outside our area to seek medical assistance for their children.

Our biggest goal is to let those families know that they are not alone during those times. Please help us with our goal. Donate today by calling 643-5900, or e-transfer to bsgscf@bellaliant.com

Bay St. George Sick Children's Foundation Inc. History

An all too common occurrence in rural areas of Newfoundland and Labrador is the emergency fund-raising activities that take place when a young child is seriously ill and must travel considerable distances to access health care facilities. Needless to say, as those of us who are parents are well aware, these illnesses are very traumatic experiences not to mention very expensive. Read more

They are Special

The organization's largest fundraiser is its annual telethon. 1. Thus on March 20th 1996, the Bay St. George Sick Children's Foundation Inc. came into existence. In the past 16 (of 27 years), the Foundation has provided more than 687 families with financial assistance costing more than $1,067,154.00. The children we serve have travelled to various health care facilities in London, Guelph, Toronto, Ottawa, and Halifax and of course the facilities in St. John's. Often, the length of stay at these facilities to require medical care involves months at a time. Also, it is not uncommon for families to spend several years traveling back and forth for medical care/treatment. In all these circumstances, we have assisted. On average each year, we provide more than 315 days/nights of accommodations to sick children and their families.
